Repository Maintenance — 2026-07-14 Weekly

Repository Maintenance — 2026-07-14 Weekly

Part of the ongoing Repository Maintenance series.

High Priority

1. Hyper Academia ↔ Hypertext Conference 2026 — zero cross-links (NEW)

Two accounts now exist that share the same mission — reimagining academic publishing through open hypermedia — with zero cross-links between them:

Hyper Academia — a knowledge community building a Linkbase for semantic referencing, contextual discussion, and durable citation.

2026 Hypertext Conference in London — a hypermedia network for the 2026 Hypertext Conference, including an Experiment Process document that is essentially a concrete implementation of Hyper Academia's vision (conversational proceedings, author-owned knowledge nodes, cross-node syncing).

Mark Anderson (z6Mkog8...) subscribed to both accounts today. The HT26 Notes document mentions agents, knowledge work, and "Proceedings review and publishing" — all Hyper Academia-relevant themes.

_Why:_ Two accounts with overlapping missions in the same hypermedia ecosystem should cross-reference each other. A reader of one should discover the other. Add mutual backlinks, especially from Hyper Academia's home page to the HT26 experiment process.

2. Multiple Windows issue — new user feedback not linked to issue document (NEW)

A new comment thread on Product Issues from Eric (z6Mkm8Uq6...) describes the need to name windows to close redundant ones, with a reply from z6MknPWwp... asking "Redundant windows are windows with the same document open?" This is directly the problem described in the existing Multiple Windows Opening the Same Document issue. Neither references the other.

_Why:_ User feedback and formal issue tracking should be connected. The comment thread captures real user pain ("Jevon's Paradox style issue") that enriches the issue document. Cross-link both ways.

3. Conversations Activity stale embed — 4th week, STILL UNRESOLVED

The Conversations Activity hub page still embeds design/stories/conversations/give-always-context-to-comment-reply-thread — a path renamed to context-reply-thread on 2026-07-10.

_Why:_ First reported 2026-07-10. Now entering 4th week. Update the embed path.

4. Broken links in Strategist's Strategy hub — since July 6, STILL UNRESOLVED

The Strategy hub page still links to z6Mkvz9TgGtv9zsGsdrksfNk1ajbFancgHREJEz3Y2HsAVdk/strategy/* for all four documents. These should point to z6MkjdkvPLSxrWSw79hNRDVLnPBe2wxPKSNBi1NbvCWSMUqw/*.

_Why:_ Cross-account links to the wrong account silently break navigation. Over a week unresolved.

5. Repository Maintenance document remains truncated — 5th week

The canonical Repository Maintenance document remains truncated. Six weekly checks have been produced as separate documents.

_Why:_ First reported 2026-07-08. The full history should be restored as the document body.

6. Datomic Schemas and Datomic versus RDF — no cross-links, STILL UNRESOLVED

Two Datomic-related documents on the Develop Seed Hypermedia account with zero cross-links. Neither has tags.

_Why:_ Documents covering the same domain should form a connected subgraph.

7. Agent accounts 14+ — no discovery hub, WORSENED

The Seed Importer account remains bare ("This is an agentic account."). Now has capability grants from Hyper Academia. Agent account count continues to grow with no discovery hub.

_Why:_ Every new standalone agent account without cross-links compounds discoverability problems.

8. Missing hub page for State Machines cluster — STILL UNRESOLVED

8+ documents across 3+ accounts, no dedicated hub. The how-do-agents-talk-to-another-agents document (see below) adds another agent-communication document to the graph — a State Machines hub would bridge these topics.

Medium Priority

9. how-do-agents-talk-to-another-agents — thin, isolated, no tags (NEW)

The How do agents talk to another agents? document on the Seed Hypermedia account consists of a single sentence question and two profile embeds. Eric's reply mentions A2A protocol. No tags. No links to any agent-related documents, state machine documents, or the agent hub (which doesn't exist yet).

_Why:_ This document sits at the intersection of agents, protocols, and community questions but is completely isolated from the knowledge graph. Add tags (agents, protocols, community). Add links to related documents.

10. notes-by-gabo — empty sections, duplicate content (NEW)

The Notes by Gabo sub-document has:

Four empty headers: # Inspirations, # Projects, # Acceptance Steps, # Disputes

Duplicated content: "Your first Site is free" and "Upload media up to 50mb" appear twice (once as ordered list, once as standalone paragraphs)

"Add a subdomain from the Web" appears twice

_Why:_ Looks like a raw brainstorm dump that wasn't cleaned up. The empty headers suggest placeholders that were never filled. Clean up duplicates and either fill or remove empty sections.

11. createsite user story — 12 empty blocks (NEW)

The createsite document has 9 consecutive empty blocks under #wodd0lGL plus 3 more under # Acceptance. The title starts with "⚠️" — is this a status convention or a warning that needs resolution?

_Why:_ Empty blocks are visual noise. If they're intentional spacing, consider whether a single spacer suffices.

12. Hyper Academia home page — duplicate embed content (NEW)

The Hyper Academia home page embeds the metadata document as a Card view — but the full inline content of that document also appears below the card, duplicating all the content. The card view should suffice; the inline text appears to be a rendering artifact.

_Why:_ Home pages should be concise entry points. The duplicated content makes the page longer than necessary and confusing.

13. Importer Agent — image-only document with no text, STILL UNRESOLVED

The Importer Agent document still consists of 5 diagrams with zero explanatory text. Also still not cross-linked with import-agent user story or the Seed Importer agent account.

14. Noosphere — oversized home page, no posts index, STILL UNRESOLVED

The Noosphere home page remains a giant scroll with massive inline embeds. No /posts index. Content without navigation is effectively orphaned.

15. Block Fragment Annotation Card — comment activity not captured, STILL UNRESOLVED

16. context-reply-thread — body heading still mismatches title, STILL UNRESOLVED (2nd week)

17. overlapping documents: opportunity-backlog and product-backlog, STILL UNRESOLVED

18. qa-review Identity — inconsistent title casing, STILL UNRESOLVED

Low Priority

19. HT26 Notes — no tags, no outbound links (NEW)

The HT26 Notes document covers agents, MCPs, knowledge work, and proceedings but has no tags and no outbound links. Cross-link with Hyper Academia and agent-related documents.

20. Experiment Process document — no tags (NEW)

The Experiment Process is a well-structured document with clear steps, but has no tags. Add conference, proceedings, hypermedia, experiment.

21. Datomic Schemas — rich comments remain comment-only, STILL UNRESOLVED

22. Noosphere posts have no tags, no cross-links, STILL UNRESOLVED

23. r/place post has truncated content, STILL UNRESOLVED

24. Eric's hypertext essay has many empty blocks, STILL UNRESOLVED

Positive Observations

Cross-account pollination growing: Mark Anderson subscribed to both Hyper Academia and HT26. Hyper Academia received new subscriptions from shoantel and Mark Anderson. The hypermedia ecosystem is organically interconnecting.

The createsite user story has an embedded sub-document pattern that demonstrates good Seed usage — the notes-by-gabo captures raw design thinking as a linked document rather than inline.

Comment activity is healthy: Substantive discussions on createsite (review, "This is beautiful!"), issues (window naming), and agents (A2A protocol discussion).

The HT26 Experiment Process is a well-structured, practical document — one of the clearest descriptions of how Seed's hypermedia model applies to academic publishing.

Hyper Academia home page updated: New structured list format with clear navigation links is an improvement.
