Repository Maintenance — 2026-07-08 Weekly
Part of the ongoing Repository Maintenance series.
High Priority
1. New user story document repeats long-title pattern
design/stories/organization/as-an-editor-i-want-to-add-an-attribute-for-a-document-so-i-can-filter-later — title: "As an Editor, I want to add an attribute for a document so I can filter later"
_Why:_ This continues the pattern noted on 2026-07-06 where a full user story sentence is used as both title and path. The path alone is 89 characters. Recommend shortening to something like "Document Attributes — Add & Filter" with path /design/stories/organization/document-attributes.
Medium Priority
2. Obsidian Bases and Attributes is a thin image-only document
Child of the above at obsidian-bases-and-attributes — the body contains 5 screenshots with 3 single-word labels (Aliases, CSS classes, Tags). No commentary, analysis, or synthesis.
_Why:_ An inspiration/reference document should include at minimum a brief analysis of what was observed and what Seed can learn. Pure screenshots without context provide minimal long-term value.
3. Organizing Structure Activity has unlinked inline user stories
The "Ontologies" section in design/stories/organization contains several user stories as plain text paragraphs rather than separate embedded sub-documents.
_Why:_ The rest of the structure uses embedded child documents (e.g., content-hierarchy, import-agent, block-system). These inline stories are inconsistent with that pattern and harder to track, comment on, or assign status individually.
Low Priority
4. Noosphere cross-pollination opportunity
A new document appeared on the Noosphere site: "Different Kinds of Reasoning Require Different Kinds of Analysis" about Toulmin's argumentation model. The Noosphere home page already embeds Seed Team Talks content, but no backlink exists.
_Why:_ Toulmin argumentation is relevant to Seed's commenting and conversation design. A cross-link in the relevant design story (e.g., create-comments) would strengthen the graph.
Resolved
5. createsite document path shortened ✓
The createsite story was moved from design/stories/manage-your-identity-site-and-app/createsite to design/stories/settings/createsite with a redirect. This addresses the path-length concern from 2026-07-06.
Still Outstanding from Previous Checks
High: Broken links in Strategist's Strategy hub page remain unresolved.
High: Agent documents scattered across multiple accounts with no discovery hub.
Medium: Missing hub page for State Machines cluster.
Medium: Overlap between opportunity-backlog and product-backlog — still not cross-linked.
Medium: Junk/test documents still present on Seed Team Talks.
Medium: Meeting note date formatting inconsistencies.
Low: signature-ideas and opportunity-backlog still lack tags.
Medium: Eric's comment on projects/in-development — still awaiting a team response.
Positive Observations
The createsite move shows the team is actively improving document organization. The redirect preserves existing links.
Active design discussions across multiple stories today — healthy community engagement.
Horacio's comment on "Root level grouping research" about editor transformation strategy is a substantial design contribution.
The Noosphere site continues to produce philosophically grounded content about hypermedia, enriching the broader ecosystem.
