The Role of Fairness and Diversity in User Choices and Perceptions of Music Playlists
A qualitative think-aloud and interview study with 18 participants showing that while fairness and diversity descriptions on music playlists prompt reflection, users’ playlist choices remain driven by musical taste and often conflict with their expressed fairness values.
