Signature Ideas

Tier 1: Defensible, Compounding, Original

Graduated Trust: Social Graph as Proof-of-Work Substrate

Why it's signature: This is the most original idea in the repository. It inverts the traditional OSS contribution model — shifting cost from maintainers to contributors in proportion to social distance from the project. The graph itself becomes the proof-of-work, and AI cannot fabricate human reputation chains.

Evidence:

Compounds into: protocol spec, developer tools, CI integrations, governance frameworks, cross-domain trust models

Moat: The idea is tightly coupled to Seed's existing primitives (contacts, capabilities, content-addressed documents). Implementing graduated trust on Seed is a natural fit; implementing it anywhere else requires building the substrate from scratch.

Seed Hypermedia as the Missing Trust Layer for AI

Why it's signature: As AI collapses the cost of content generation, the scarce resource becomes trusted provenance, not production. Seed's content-addressed, signed, capability-based architecture is the infrastructure for the AI era.

Evidence:

Graduated trust proposal explicitly maps trust mechanisms to Seed's existing primitives

Cross-domain applicability (journalism, peer review, moderation) positions Seed beyond OSS

Compounds into: developer tooling, community growth, enterprise adoption, protocol standards

Tier 2: Strong Positioning, Needs Development

Proof-of-Context: Code Understanding as Anti-Slop Filter

Status: Defined in graduated trust proposal but not developed as a standalone tool or paper.

Portable Reputation Across Domains

Status: Mentioned in graduated trust proposal; needs substantial design work on domain governance.

Tier 3: Seeds Worth Watching

    Recovery from high-reputation account compromise

    Sybil-resistant graph entry

    Privacy-preserving graph traversal
