User creates and edits content
Testing Introduction:
We’re working on usability improvements to make the current platform easier and more intuitive. During this test your thoughts and feedback will be extremely valuable.
This isn’t a test of you, there are no wrong actions. I’ll guide you through a few tasks, and since this is a prototype, some things may be incomplete or not fully functional.
Please think aloud as you go so I can understand your thoughts.
Let’s begin.
Permission to record screen
Testing prototype
In this scenario, you’ve been invited by a colleague to a tool, to read some content she is been creating.
You open a link and land on this screen.
Block 1: First look and subscribe flow (10 min)
Without clicking anywhere, take a first look to the content presented:
Share your first thoughts.
What would be the first thing you would do
What do you think subscribed button means?
Is there any word you would expect? (Join...)
Click on subscribe and give feedback about next steps
Where do you think you will find your recent subscription?
Quick look to the left column and feedback.
Block 2: Document activity and people (15 min)
Now tell me about the activity of the content you are in:
Take a deeper look at the people's tab and share your thoughts
How would you go the detail of Salvador Ponce? What would be interesting for you to see about?
Take a look to Salvador's profile
Imagine you tap Follow. What would you expect to happen?
Where would you go find things about Salvador after?
Block 3: Open a document, share it, feed (10 min)
Now imagine your colleague share a specific link to a document inside this site she wants you to read:
This is the link: https://ethosfera.org/mejores-empresas-mejor-democracia/do-the-right-think
How would you open the document from where you are?
How you then share a link from any document to someone?
Now, the last thing you want to do is take a quick look to the whole activity of the site, how you would do that?
Do you think there is a way to find other sites of your interest from where you are?
Suggested actions post test - Round IV
✅ Quite sure ⚠️ With doubts ⁉️ TBD Roles experience and general functionalities ✅ Develop bookmark experience receive great feedback ✅ Show more the potential of back links Subscribe / create and account flow ✅ We need to differentiate between subscribe (notifications/updates) and create account (to comment / follow /see people ....) ⁉️ Keep subscribe actions as the ability to receive notifications, nothing else ⁉️ Delete subscribe and embed notifications when you create an account -> "notify me" ✅ Ask to create account just when user wants to do a specific action: Follow someone, add a comment, admin feed... // don't push it ✅ Show incentives to create an account first: You can participate ✅ Show the value/incentives of creating account: community, other sites, other authors, participate ⁉️ Allow commenting as a guest without having to create an account ✅ Add remaining steps on the create account flow to give context Document activity and people ✅ Profile flow detail is a win as it is and is interesting for users ✅ Add Follow - is clear and users like it ✅ Add Following on the left bar behind Joined sites Open document ⁉️ Still not sure about this but if we bet for the link use, we need to do it as the browser experience ⁉️ Wondering if we can add an "open doc." action somewhere ✅ First time user experience: Small tip to explain copy open share links Feed ✅ Add activity / feed on top right as a generic action (see how we do it on browser) ⚠️ Add activity / feed on the bottom for browser experience ✅ Embed notification and feed in one element and filter it as LinkedIn does ✅ Reduced feed content of notifications with just the title: "Horacio made a comment" not all the content on activity ⚠️ Feedback is diverse about seeing all activity of the user or just the specific site activity (2/1) ⁉️ Allow user to admin the feed and what is highlighted
